Laura Lake - Board of Directors Treasurer

April's Helping Hands Club inductee is Laura Lake, Board of Directors Treasurer.
The Harbour Board of Directors is made up of many different people and backgrounds, including architects, CPAs, physical trainers and now the 2014 Miss Northern Suburbs. Laura has spent the last three years helping the Board create safety today and opportunities for a better tomorrow for Harbour youth.
The Wisconsin native, transplanted to Illinois in 2013. Once there, she began looking for ways to get involved in her community. As a former Miss Northern Suburbs, Laura is no stranger to finding causes she is passionate about and making a difference in her community. After some research Laura stumbled upon The Harbour and knew it would be a perfect fit for her.
She quickly found her place in the organization and joined The Harbour's Board of Directors in 2013. Now in her second term, Laura is more active than ever. She currently holds the title of Board Treasurer, which is the very important job of making sure dollars and cents add up to equal more clients served.
"I love giving back to the community and the girls. Knowing a little extra time and assistance can go a long way is very fulfilling." -Laura
Aside from being the Board treasurer, Laura helps wherever needed. With the annual Bet on The Harbour benefit right around the corner, Laura has stepped up and helped Development Coordinators get things ready for the event. Putting her crafting skills to good use, Laura has been very helpful in creating name tags, attaining donations and volunteers for the event.
With each new task she takes on, you can hear in her voice, how passionate she is about helping The Harbour.
